| Bosch does lots with a little | |
| 03 July 2008 THE Bosch Logixx ActiveWater dishwasher is claimed to be able to wash up to 14 full place settings with just 10 litres of water. This is an enormous saving compared with hand washing, which generally uses between 40 to 60 litres of water for the same load. What’s more, that 10 litres of water is cleaned and circulated so many times and used so efficiently, says Bosch, that it is the equivalent of using 4,100 litres of water for the wash. As well as holding more place settings than most standard models, the appliance has also been designed to accommodate as many different size and shape configurations as possible. Its door has been reshaped to allow for a bigger top basket, while also making room for the ‘VarioDrawer’, which holds cutlery, espresso cups and awkward-shaped utensils. The upper basket allows for three different height positions and can be easily adjusted, even when fully loaded. Other features worth mentioning include a ‘DosageAssist’ function, which ensures detergent is thoroughly dissolved during the wash process, and a ‘large item spray head’, for effective washing of large or bulky objects such as baking trays and oven shelves. Bosch has also ensured the dishwasher will integrate well into today’s modern open-plan kitchens with concealed touch control buttons and low noise levels of just 40dB.
