Next year's digital switchover dates for the West Country have been announced by Digital UK.

In North Devon the switchover will begin on July 1and be completed by July 29, 2009.

This will be followed by the West Cornwall and Isles of Scilly regions, which will begin to lose their analogue signals on July 8 with switchover completed by August 5.

Four days later, analogue broadcasts from the Caradon hill transmitter will stop to Plymouth, parts of Devon and east Cornwall.

And from September 30, commercial multiplexes will broadcast at higher power and on new frequencies from the Huntshaw Cross transmitter in North Devon and Redruth transmitter in West Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.
