Bosch puts half-a-million pounds behind Disney environmental movie
04 July 2008

Bosch has invested £500,000 in supporting a Disney children's movie and its message.

WALL*E from Disney/Pixar is an animated feature film starring an environmental robot who is sent to Earth to clean up the place while the humans take a luxury space cruise – he also holds the key to the future of the planet.

The film was critically acclaimed in the USA where it took $63 million in its opening weekend and is due to open here on July 18.

Bosch is backing the movie because of its combination of an environmental message and futuristic technology.

The company's support includes a national press campaign, consumer competitions on a WALL*E microsite and point-of-sale material.

In-store promotions will include competitions and Disney prize giveaways.

Top prize is a trip to Disneyland Florida and the chance to experience a live space shuttle launch at the Kennedy Space Center.

Bosch's campaign begins this week and will run until the beginning of September.

Bosch brand manager Ken Humphrey said: “We are delighted to be collaborating with Disney on their latest film.

"The more we can do to get across the benefits of buying our energy and water efficient appliances, the better.

"For example, a dishwasher uses only 10 litres of water, compared with 40 – 50 litres for washing up by hand.”
